Belize is a laid back Caribbean country on the eastern coast of Central America, with Caribbean Sea shoreline to the east and dense jungle to the west. It`s known for its beaches, Eco–lodges, scuba diving, sport-fishing, ancient Maya ruins, jungle hikes and wild life watching. Offshore lays the massive Belize Barrier Reef, second biggest in the world. The reef is scattered with hundreds of Cayes and is home to vast marine life. Fresh fruit and fish are abundant here as are coffee and chocolate.
English is the official language however due to rich cultural diversity large number of population speak Spanish, Creole, Garifuna and Q`eqchi`. Belize has a population of about 330,000 people who are descendants of African-European Creoles, Spanish–Indian Mestizos, West African Garifunas, Mayan Indians, Europeans, North American and Asians.
The currency is Belize Dollar, thought it is mostly acceptable to pay in $USD. The exchange rate is 1 $USD = 2 $BZD.
